A synchronous motor is DC electric motors have a voltage induced rotating armature winding, and a non-rotating armature field frame winding that is a static field, or permanent magnet. In effect, they act as three-phase synchronous motors containing their own variable-frequency drive electronics. Motor is similar to a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Very large synchronous motors are capable of tens of thousands of kW in output, for pipeline compressors, wind-tunnel drives and overland converor systems. 4 Torque motors; 5 Stepper motors; 6 Permanent magnet motor; 7 Brushless DC motors; 8 Coreless DC motors; 9 Linear motors; 10 Doubly-fed electric motor; 11 Singly-fed electric motor; 12 Dual mechanical port motor; 13 Nanotube nanomotor; 14 Motor starters. Motor is used to define the combination of motor, its electronic drive circuit and rotor position sensor. The classic DC motor design generates an oscillating current in a wound rotor, or armature, with a split ring commutator, and either a wound or permanent magnet stator. The other type of AC motor is called a synchronous motor and rotates precisely at the supply frequency or on a sub-multiple of the supply frequency. DC electric motors Most DC electric motors today are manufactured to be controlled with industrial electronic DC drives. The construction of brushless d.c. Brushless dc motor – Often times, we are asked, “which is the best Permanent Magnet Synchronous and Brushless DC Motor Drives (Mechanical Engineering (Marcel Dekker))?”.
